Orietta Region

Origin

Derived from The Orient, which came from the Latin Oriens, meaning 'East'. The term was used to broadly refer to everything east of the Mediterranean world that Greco-Romans were familiar with. In Ys, Orietta is a largely unknown region.

Appearances

  • Orietta has yet to appear in a game, though people from Orietta are occasionally mentioned in backstory elements.

Trivia

  • As far back as the manual for the very first version of Ys I on the PC-8801, it has been mentioned that one of Adol's famous adventures took him to Orietta.
