Origin
Sophia is the Greek word for 'Wisdom' and while not a goddess in classical times, visual depictions of her as a woman became common. Sophia is the root of the modern word Philosophy ('Love of Wisdom') among others. Sophia also became associated with Gnostic tradition as one of the Aions who either created or caused to be created the material world.
Appearances
- Sophia is a major character in Kaze no Densetsu Xanadu, being a holy woman who lives at the Parthia Shrine and is the only person in the world born with the ability to use magic.
