Éclair
Origin: | French |
---|---|
Japanese: | エクレール |
Appears In: | Sora no Kiseki SC, Sen no Kiseki series |
Origin
Éclair is French for Lightning.
Appearances
- Éclair is one of Scherazard Harvey's whips in Sora no Kiseki SC. The word was localized without the accent mark.
- In the Sen no Kiseki games, Sara Valestein's Bracer title is Éclair (
紫電 ) localized as Purple Lightning, the literal translation of the underlying kanji. - Sara's S-Craft in Sen no Kiseki I-II is Omega Éclair (オメガエクレール) combining the Greek letter with the French and effectively meaning 'Final Lightning'. The name was localized as Plasma Storm.
Trivia
- The literal reading of Sara's title matches the visual effects of her crafts, where the lightning she conjures is purple in color.
- Shiden in Japanese can refer to the glint of light on a blade, which is thematically appropriate. Shiden was also the name by which the Kawanishi N1K-J fighter was known during World War II.
