Origin

Edel is Dutch and German for 'Noble' in the sense of birth, character or quality, and is derived from the Proto-Germanic root *aþalaz.

Appearances

  • Edel is a town in Marcherose in Umi no Oriuta.
  • In Sorcerian Forever, the Edel Robe (エーデルローブ) can be equipped by the Wizard and Elf and the Edel Armor (エーデルアーマー) by the Fighter and Dwarf. Both are hidden treasures found in the scenario 'The Bell Tolls at Midnight'.
  • The department store Edel (エーデル百貨店) is a shopping mall in the city of Grancel in the Sora no Kiseki games.
  • The Edel Staff (エーデルスタッフ) is one of Estelle's weapons in Sora no Kiseki SC.
  • Also in Sora no Kiseki SC, the Edel Armor is a male-exclusive armor, described as having a beautiful sheen. The Edel Guarder (エーデルガーダー) is a companion piece of footwear described as having beautiful engravings.
  • Edel is a student at Thors Military Academy in the Sen no Kiseki games and is the head of the Gardening Club during her time there.
  • The Edel Saber (エーデルセイバー) is a sword for Jusis in Sen no Kiseki, described as an elegant and beautifully ornamented weapon.
  • In Sen no Kiseki III, Edel Silk (エーデルシルク) is armor and Edel Boots (エーデルブーツ) are shoes, both exclusive to female characters, both described as classy and well-tailored attire.
  • Edel Boots return in Hajimari no Kiseki as exclusive footwear for Elie MacDowell.
  • Also in Hajimari no Kiseki, Lapis Rosenberg has a self-buffing Craft called Edel Hearts (エーデルハーツ) which also acts as an EX-Art during the final battle sequence.
  • Dana Iclucia in Ys VIII uses the Edel Sphere (エーデルスフィア) as one of her blades, made from Orichalcum.
  • One of Krysha's claws in Ys IX is the Edel Fang (エーデルファング).
