Garman
Japanese: ガルマン
Appears In: Ys Series (mentioned)

Origin

Derived from German and hence Germany, the region corresponding to Garman in the real world. The name comes from the Latin Germania, which was coined by Gaius Julius Caesar based on a local name for a tribe inhabiting the region.

Appearances

  • Garman has not yet been seen in any canonical source, though characters from the region have appeared in games.

Trivia

  • Unlike the real world where Germania was always a frontier area, in Ys the Garman region appears to be wholly occupied by the Romun Empire.
  • Garman does appear directly in the non-canonical Ys Strategy.
