Origin
In the real world, the name commonly used for the people and language of the region of Greece. In Ys, Greek is the name of the region itself. The name derives from the Latin Graecia ('Land of the Greeks') which in turn they derived from a city where the Romans first encountered the Greeks.
Appearances
- While the mainland does not appear in any games to date, Ys VIII takes place on an island that's part of the wider territory that comprises Greek and locations within it are mentioned in the game.

- In the real world, the Greeks' own name for their country is Hellas (Ελλάς).
