Isthmia Great Forest
Origin: Greek
Source Name: Ἴσθμια
Japanese: イストミア大森林
Appears In: Sora no Kiseki The 3rd (mentioned), Sen no Kiseki III-IV

Origin

Isthmia is a Greek word derived from Isthmos ('Neck') and is the origin of the modern word Isthmus, referring to a narrow strip of land connecting two larger landmasses and surrounded on its other sides by water. The name was originally given to the Isthmus of Corinth, site of a sanctuary to Poseidon and the location of one of the Panhellenic Games

Appearances

  • The Isthmia Great Forest is located in Sutherland Province in Erebonia and can be visited in Sen no Kiseki III and IV.

Trivia

  • In Sora no Kiseki The 3rd, one of the banned books that Kevin and Ries discover in the Hermit's Garden is named Isthmian Tales (イストミア異聞). Given that the forest is the home of the Hexen Clan, this counts as an extremely subtle bit of long-range foreshadowing.
