Kumanba
Origin: Japanese
Japanese: クマンバ
Appears In: Sen no Kiseki III-IV

Origin

Kumanba is a contraction of Kumanbachi (クマンバチ or 熊ん蜂) which is a colloquial name in Japan for Xylocopa appendiculata circumvolans, the Japanese Carpenter Bee. The name is also colloquially used for wasps or hornets generally.

Appearances

  • The Kumanba is an enemy appearing in Sen no Kiseki III and IV. Appropriate for its name, the enemy resembles a large bee.
  • The related enemy Grand Kumanba (グランクマンバ) also appears in Sen no Kiseki III and IV and the Queen Kumanba (クインクマンバ) appears exclusively in IV.
