Origin

Laevateinn is a briefly attested weapon in the Poetic Edda whose name means 'Wounding Twig'. It is said to have been made by Loptr (Loki) and to be the only weapon capable of killing Vithofnir. The weapon is usually assumed to be a sword and depicted as such in modern media, though with its name a staff is also possible.
