Origin
Derived from The Orient, which came from the Latin Oriens, meaning 'East'. The term was used to broadly refer to everything east of the Mediterranean world that Greco-Romans were familiar with. In Ys, Orietta is a largely unknown region.

- Orietta has yet to appear in a game, though people from Orietta are occasionally mentioned in backstory elements.

- As far back as the manual for the very first version of Ys I on the PC-8801, it has been mentioned that one of Adol's famous adventures took him to Orietta.
