Tir na Uraigh
Origin: Irish
Japanese: ティル・ナ・ウルグ
Appears In: Ys IX

Origin

Uraign is Irish for 'Darken' or 'Eclipse'. The name as a whole is a reference to Tír na nÓg ('The Land of Youth') which is a part of the Irish Otherworld.

Appearances

  • Dark Sword Tir na Uraigh (冥剣ティル・ナ・ウルグ) is Adol's strongest weapon in Ys IX. The 'dark' theme of the name fits with the central role of the Grimwald Night in the story.

Trivia

  • The term is a Falcom invention rather than an authentic bit of Irish mythology.
