Mont Blanc is French for 'White Mountain' and a Mont-Blanc is a desert of northern Italian origins (but extremely popular in France and later Japan) made with sweetened chestnut puree capped with whipped cream; the dessert's name comes from the appearance of a snow-capped mountain.
