Origin: Japanese
Japanese: 魔王珠

Origin

The Japanese word Maou (literally 'Devil King') originally derives from Buddhist teachings where it refers to a demon who attempts to prevent the practice of Buddhist principles and the attaining of enlightenment. In Japanese the word also became used to translate Christian texts, where it became an epithet or title of the Devil.

Appearances

  • Diabolos Gem is a Time-elemental Quartz appearing in all four Sen no Kiseki games. The name is exclusive to the localization and is Greek (διάβολος) for 'Devil'.
