Norn
Origin: Old Norse
Japanese: ノルン
Appears In: Sen no Kiseki IV, Hajimari no Kiseki, Ys IX

Origin

In Norse mythology, the Norns are goddesses (or originally jotunns) who ruled over destiny. Three named Norns are known but according to the Gylfaginning they were not the only ones. They are somewhat analogous to the three Fates in Greek mythology.

Appearances

  • The Spiral Norn (スパイラル・ノルン) is an Overmuppet appearing in Sen no Kiseki IV and is a variation of the Spiral Clotho. It reappears in Hajimari no Kiseki in the True Reverie Corridor.
  • Radiant Armor Norn (輝甲ノルン) is the strongest female-exclusive armor in Sen no Kiseki IV.
  • The Cursed Norn (カースドノルン) is a boss battle in Ys IX and consists of three spectral foes encountered in Evan Macha. Their collective title is the Three Accursed Sisters (呪われし三姉妹).

Trivia

  • The third named Norn is Verthandi, who has yet to be referenced in a Falcom game.
