Origin
Alberich is a figure from German mythology, appearing in the Nibelungenlied as a dwarf who guards the Nibelungs' treasure until he is defeated by the hero Siegfried and becomes his follower. In Richard Wagner's adaptation of the story, Alberich is instead the primary antagonist.
Appearances
- Going by the full name of Alberich the Black Demise (黒き終焉のアルベリヒ), this is the name of the persona used by Ishmelga to control the Gnomes and which is controlling Franz Reinford.
Trivia
- In the opera Siegfried, Wotan refers to Alberich as Schwarz Alberich, meaning 'Black Alberich'.
- In some accounts, the swords Nagelring and Eckesachs were forged by Alberich.
