Nekhlyud
Origin: Russian Literature
Source Name: Нехлюдов
Japanese: ネフリュード
Appears In: Ys IX

Origin

The name is a shortening of the family name of Dmitri Ivanovich Nekhlyudov, the protagonist of Leo Tolstoy's final novel Resurrection.

Appearances

  • Nekhlyud is a large Larva that appears in Ys IX and resembles a human face. The central motif of Tolstoy's novel is atoning for a great sin, which fits the general atmosphere of Ys IX well. A variation called the Exehlyud (エグゼフリュード) also appears.
