Origin

Puck is a trickster spirit in English folklore, most famous as the mischief-maker whose actions instigate must of the plot of William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream. The name is of uncertain origin, having roots in the Old English word Puca, with cognates in Celtic and North Germanic languages and no agreement as to who borrowed the name from whom.

Appearances

  • A trio of enemies appearing in Sora no Kiseki The 3rd are the Hammer Puck (ハンマーパック), Shield Puck (シールドパック) and Bazooka Puck (バズパック), each described as a malicious but short-statured fiend. Their name was localized by XSEED as 'Dwarf' in each instance. The first two enemies reappear in Hajimari no Kiseki in the True Reverie Corridor.
  • Puck (ぱっく) is an enemy in Zwei! encountered in Caiaphas Woods.
  • Puck is the name of one of the three recurring thieves encountered by the protagonists in Ys IX.
