Japanese: | アニマ・エルガストゥルム |
Appears In: | Ys IX |
Origin
Anima is Latin for 'Soul' and an Ergastulum was a Roman prison, with the term usually implying a prison for dangerous or disobedient slaves. The name thus has the combined meaning of, roughly, 'Prison of Souls'.
Ergastulum itself has Greek roots in the word Ergasterion, meaning 'Workshop'.
Appearances
- Anima Ergastulum is a towering monstrosity formed from the unchecked divine power that Atola was unable to control. It serves as the second phase of Ys IX's final boss and its title is the Prison of the Perfected Soul (錬成魂魄の監獄塔).
- ANIMA ERGASTULUM is also the name of the music track that plays during the final battle.
