Tamamo
Origin: Japanese Mythology
Japanese: 玉藻
Appears In: Sen no Kiseki III-IV

Origin

Tamamo is short for Tamamo-no-Mae, a legendary courtesan said to have been the favorite concubine of an early twelfth century Emperor, though different stories identify different Emperors as the one. In some of these accounts, Tamamo was not a woman but a Kitsune (a fox-spirit) in disguise.

Appearances

  • Tamamo is a Mirage-elemental Quartz in Sen no Kiseki III and IV. Fitting the origin of its name, it causes attacks to inflict the Charm status on enemies.

Trivia

  • The word Tamamo also means 'Seaweed' in Japanese.
