Origin

Given its location in the middle of the Ys equivalent to the Atlantic Ocean, the Vortex might have been inspired by stories of shipwrecks and unusual phenomenon in the region known as the Bermuda Triangle.

Appearances

• The existence of the Vortex is what inspired Adol to undertake his journey in Ys VI, to see what was on the other side.

Trivia

• The real-world Bermuda Triangle isn't nearly as dangerous as early accounts made it out to be, but it still makes for a good story hook.
