Origin
Coppelion is derived from Coppélia, a 19th century French ballet in which an inventor creates a life-sized doll by that name. The name ultimately derives from the Greek word Kopela (κοπέλα) meaning 'young woman'
Appearances
- Coppelion is a Craft used by Mariabell Crois in Ao no Kiseki and again in Sen no Kiseki IV, in which she animates three of her dolls and sends them to attack the party.
- Coppelion Order (コッペリオンオーダー) is a Skill usable by animated doll Anemona in Ys IX.
Trivia
- The ballet gave its name to a manga series by Inoue Tomonori called Coppelion, about a trio of genetically engineered girls who search for survivors in Tokyo in the wake of a nuclear disaster. This is likely to be the more direct inspiration for Mariabell's Craft.
