Albion
Origin: Old Brittonic
Japanese: アルビオン
Appears In: Tokyo Xanadu, Sen no Kiseki II-IV, Ys IX

Origin

Albion is the Common or Old Brittonic name for the island of Britain and was used to refer to the island (sometimes in part, sometimes encompassing all islands in the region) by Greco-Roman writers before the term Britannia became widely used. The modern name for Scotland is derived from this. Albion itself is derived from a Proto Indo-European root word meaning 'White'.

Appearances

  • In Sen no Kiseki II, the Albion Garb (アルビオンガーヴ) is an accessory given as a reward by Patrick, a mantle handed down among the Hyarms family.
  • In Tokyo Xanadu, Lost Albion (ロスト・アルビオン) is the name of White Shroud's Cross Strike ability.
  • In Sen no Kiseki III and IV, Albion Garden (百貨店《アルビオン・ガーデン》) is the name of a department store in the city of Saint-Ark.
  • Also in Sen no Kiseki III and IV, the strongest offensive Mirage Art is named Albion Wolf (アルビオン・ヴォルフ) with the name clearly referring to the silver-white color of the beast.
  • In Ys IX, White Cat's EX Skill is Albion Strike (アルビオンストライク), presumably deriving from the color of the effect.
