Origin

The name comes from Sliabh Thigh Bródáin in Ireland ('Mountain of the House of Bródáin') also known as Tibradden Mountain. The name comes from the burial site located near the summit, believed in local tradition to be the resting place of a person by that name. The name itself is a combination of two words meaning 'Stone-Gift' or 'Stone-Craft'.
