Scarecrow
Origin: English Literature
Japanese: かかし男スケアクロウ
Appears In: Sen no Kiseki series

Origin

The Scarecrow is a major character from L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz.

Appearances

  • While Lechter Arundel of the Ironbloods has appeared since Sora no Kiseki The 3rd, his title among the group was first revealed in Sen no Kiseki. Similar to his literary namesake, Lechter frequently puts on an act of not having a brain while actually being a good deal more clever than he lets on.

Trivia

  • An indirect allusion to a line from the iconic film adaptation of The Wizard of Oz is made by Lechter when performing his Laevateinn Craft, albeit one that was directed to the Scarecrow by the Wicked Witch of the West. In Japanese his line is 燃え尽きな! (Burn up!) and in English it's 'How about a little fire?!'. The Witch asked the Scarecrow that exact question just before setting him on fire.
